During the recent Examination into Calderdale’s Local Plan, it was announced that a planning application for the proposed Clifton Enterprise Zone would soon be published by Calderdale Council. 

The enterprise zone site is within the Clifton Village Neighbourhood Forum’s designated area, and it is disappointing that Calderdale Council did not make any attempt to discuss this with the Forum before a public announcement (by a local Councillor).

The Local Plan Examination was told that although the site is nominally the largest employment allocation in Calderdale, the steep topography (a 1 in 10 gradient) of the site means that less than half the site can be developed.
